China – ERT with Theodoros Terzopoulos at the Modern Drama Valley International Festival
Shanghai is the new international stage of Samul Beckett’s Waiting for Godot directed by Theodoros Terzopoulos and produced by ERT Emilia Romagna Teatro.
The show is guest of the Modern Drama Valley, international theatre festival among the most important in China, that annually thakes place in the Jing'an district of Shanghai.
The 2024 edition hosts twenty-four national and international productions, and many collateral events and activities that will animate the entire district from April 26 to May 13.
Among the most anticipated shows is the great Beckettian classic directed by the Greek maestro, that is presented in co-operation with the Italian Cultural Institute in Shanghai and will be on stage on May 1st and May 2nd (STA experimental Theatre, different times).
Terzopoulos’s performance of Waiting for Godot is set on “the ruins of the world”, at “the borderline of human existence”, to question about the minimum possible conditions for restarting life, a life that is worth living.
With a captivating visual and sound dramaturgy and a cast of extraordinary actors, in the hands of Terzopoulos, Waiting for Godot becomes a show that questions our own humanity.
