France – Ginevra Panzetti/ Enrico Ticconi at Artdanthé Festival
Ginevra Panzetti/ Enrico Ticconi artistic duo is guest of Artdanthé Festival, the dance festival organized by the Théâtre de Vanves, and on March 17 and 19 will be on stage with two creations investigating the symbolic power of the flag.
AeReA is the first part of the diptych focusing on an object –the flag– that since its beginning has always been used to express belonging and separation, marking the distinction between a hypothetical us and them. The title takes two words that can be graphically overlapped and merged into a single term: ARA - AEREA. The first one alludes to the place in ancient times dedicated to the sacrifice, the second (adj. air), indicates the physical quality of the object ‘flag’.

ARA! ARA! is the second part of the diptych drawing on the folkloristic tradition of flag waving. In designing the symbol ‘flag’, it represents a seductive power for its friendly and festive appearance that, like the bird, the Ara macaw, imitates and repeats, bringing back patterns from the past, ignoring contents and effects. Again, in the title, the world ARA alludes to the ancient altar.
This new creation (2021) was made with the support of the Fondation d’Entreprise Hermès ‘New Settings’ program.
