Germany – From Monteverdi to Mina with Soqquadro Italiano

On March 18, the ensemble performs at the Stadttheater Fürth concert series

Soqquadro Italiano is back to the Stadttheater in Fürth, which in the past had already welcome them in the concert series "Passagen” and where on March 18 they perform the concert From Monteverdi to Mina, a musical journey in the Italian music repertoire, from the dawn of the seventeenth century up to the song of the ’60.

Almost four hundred years separate Monteverdi and Mina, but Claudio Borgianni and Vincenzo Capezzuto think that they are linked by a "red thread" and a number of similarities. Amongst them, and above all, their being revolutionary in spite of criticism and their being symbols of a new kind of show.

In this dialogue between the "world" of Mina and that of Monteverdi, the music repertoire is constantly in motion, contaminated by diverse influences and constantly fluctuating between the music by the two composers and their contemporaries.

Conceived and directed by Claudio Borgianni, From Monteverdi to Mina is a concert of great visionariness and contamination, in which Vincenzo Capezzuto’s unique voice becomes the common thread: a voice with an extremely rare, unusual timbre, able to accompany the audience on this journey between distant but unequivocally intertwined ages.
