Spain – Marco D’Agostin at “Cádiz en Danza” international festival
Revelation of the new Italian performance scene, Marco D’Agostin is among the artists presented in the programme “Tempi di danza – creaciones italianas contemporáneas”, a new showcase-project dedicated to Italian contemporary dance promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute in Madrid and the Italian Ministry of Culture -Directorate General Performing arts under the patronage of the Embassy of Italy in Spain and organized in co-operation with the prestigious “Madrid en Danza” and “Cádiz en Danza” festivals.
D'Agostin is on stage on June 12 with Best Regards, a work created in 2020 and already appreciated in many international festivals. It is Marco’s very personal homage to performer and co-founder of the DV8 Physical Theater Nigel Charnock, with whom he worked in the past and who marked his way of conceiving dance. D’Agostin celebrates his memory with a show of desperate entertainment, without melancholy, trying to answer –together with the audience– the question: what would you write to someone who will never read your words? (at Teatro del Títere “La Tía Norica”, 9 pm).
On June 13, the artist presents another work that questions the role and functioning of memory and focuses on the relationship between performer and spectator: the new creation The Years, dedicated to and performed by Marta Ciappina – a unique performer in terms of artistic itinerary and technical peculiarities on the Italian dance scene. It is a generational biographical story that digs up the Italian political and social life of the last thirty years and invites the spectators to play with their own memory (at Sala Central Lechera, 9 pm).
The tour is supported also by Emilia-Romagna Region and ATER Fondazione.
