Teatro Gioco Vita on tour in France

New stages of the show "Sonia and Alfredo" in six cities from January 25 to February 8

Teatro Gioco Vita theatre company is back to France with the performance Sonia and Alfredo. Between January 25 - February 8, it will be staged with about ten performances in six cities: Evron, Pornichet, Saint-Jean-de-Boiseau, La Planch, Saint-Hilaire-de-Riez.

A number of performances that will soon increase the milestone of fifty achieved right in France at the end of December 2022, in Marseille.

Here the show was guest of the Mucem (Musée des Civilisations de l'Europe et de la Méditerranée) within a programme for families focused on the theme “Vive l’amitié!”.
And Teatro Gioco Vita’s show tells a story of friendship and solidarity, a simple, sweet and moving story.

It is based on the books Go away, Alfredo! and Are you there, Alfredo? by Catherine Pineur, Belgian author and illustrator of children's books. The stage version for actors and shadows merges and develops the events narrated in the two books into a single story. Direction and set design are by Fabrizio Montecchi, the shadow puppets –taken from Pineur’s drawings– by Nicoletta Garioni and Federica Ferrari.

Co-produced with the Maison des Arts du Léman (Thonon-Évian-Publier), the show was created in 2020 in full health emergency –a situation that marked all the stages of the setting up and conditioned the start of tours for a long time. And so, if fifty performances in two years are not many by Teatro Gioco Vita's usual standards, they are a very important milestone for Sonia and Alfredo, because they testify to the restarting of tours in Italy and abroad.

In 2022, the tours abroad included this and others productions by Teatro Gioco Vita, which was guest of important international festivals in Belfort, Stockholm, Zagreb, Schwäbisch Gmünd, Thonon-les-Bains, Ljubljana.

And in 2023, January 19-21, the theatre company has already been on stage in France with another show, guest of the Centre Dramatique National de Normandie in Rouen: Me and Nothing, another deep and moving story, based, in this case, on the work by Kitty Crowther.
