Canada – Teatro del Drago at the Festival de Casteliers
These days, artistic directors of Teatro del Drago Roberta Colombo and Andrea Monticelli are in Canada, attending the 18th Festival de Casteliers – international festival of puppet theatre for adults and children taking place in Montreal from March 1st to 5th.
It is an important opportunity to promote the culture of Italian puppetry and the traditions of Emilia-Romagna puppet comedy. They will introduce the Monticelli Art Family’s classical and contemporary theatre productions, the Museum ‘La casa delle Marionette’ in Ravenna, and the international puppet theatre festival ‘Arrivano dal Mare!’, taking place in Ravenna and other cities in Romagna on May 19-28, 2023.
The Festival de Casteliers is an excellent moment of relationship and exchange with festivals and puppet theatre companies from Quebec, Canada, and North America. Moreover, on March 3rd, the Marché international de Casteliers (MIC) takes place as part of the Festival – the only distribution market in Quebec specializing in the arts of puppetry.
