Happy birthday Federico Fellini!

From January 20, 'Fellini Calls', three days of live streaming events with scholars and experts (and more) curated by the Cineteca di Rimini

On January 20, opening of “Fellini Calls”, a three-day streaming event organized by the Cineteca del Comune di Rimini in co-operation with Laboratorio aperto Rimini Tiberio to celebrate Federico Fellini on the 100+1 anniversary of his birth.

From Wednesday 20 to Friday 22 January, every afternoon from 05:15 p.m. to 07:15 p.m. (CET), more than twenty guests –festivals directors, journalists, scholars, experts, ect.– will tell ‘with new words’ the cinema by the most celebrated Italian director worldwide.

In fact, “Fellini Calls” takes the cue from the relevant editorial production on Fellini published in the last months, a sign that his work never fails to surprise us and make us wonder about.

Among the guests, the voices of those who knew him and studied him, such as Vincenzo Mollica, Laura Delli Colli, Antonio Monda, Rosita Copioli, Francesca Fabbri Fellini, Gianfranco Angelucci, Stefano Francia di Celle, Marco Bertozzi, Piera Detassis, Bruno Roberti, Frank Burke.

On the program, also a tribute from the world of dance, another sign that Fellini’s work is a source of inspiration for all arts: the premiere of Felliniana – A Tribute to Fellini by Monica Casadei and her Artemis Danza company (January 20, at 09:00 p.m.).

We wish to join this celebration sharing the short film by Atom Egoyan 8½ Screens.
It is part of an installation commissioned by the Italian Cultural Institute in Toronto for an exhibition celebrating the Maestro's genius, which was to open in June 2020 at the TIFF Bell Lightbox.

The Institute is pleased to present Atom Egoyan's homage to Fellini, as we await the opportunity to see it as part of the postponed Fellini exhibition, scheduled to take place in 2021.

The renowned Canadian film director presents his vision of Federico Fellini’s masterpiece : the short captures sequences of the original film in the context of the installation, proving once again the eternal contemporaneity of the Maestro’s films for generations of Maestri that would follow.
