World premiere of “Felliniana – A Tribute to Fellini” by di Artemis Danza
Monica Casadei and her dance Company Artemis wanted to pay homage to Fellini on the occasion of the centenary of his birth with a new creation, whose debut was planned in Spring 2020.
Then the pandemic changed everything, and the performance – part of the official programme of the Italian National Committee for the Celebration of the Centenary of Fellini's birth ‘Fellini 100’, and already scheduled in many theatres in Italy and abroad –, had to stop.
Now the word premier of Felliniana – A Tribute to Fellini is presented on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of Fellini’s birth: on Wednesday January 20, at 09:00 p.m. (CET), from the Teatro Galli in Rimini, live streamed on the platform ‘Teatri nella rete’, then available until January 27.
«The performance develops around the wonderful kermesse of 8 ½ and lives on the clowns’ joy and hope, on Gradisca’s confidences, on voices and dialogues taken from the movies, on the flavour of the dolce vita, on the many colours of circus, and on Nino Rota’s poetic force», says Monica Casadei, who has already visited the ‘planet Fellini’ in other choreographic works. «It is a world where diversity is richness, poetry is nourishment, and where all human beings, with their frailty and disagreement, can feel free, well liked, as the Maestro drew a place for each of us in the carousel of life».
Felliniana – A Tribute to Fellini is part of the initiatives for the opening of the Museum the city of Rimini will dedicate to the great director and is presented as special event of the virtual theatre season organized by ATER Fondazione on the platform ‘Teatri nella rete’.
A video of the backstage is also available: Monica Casadei talks about the show and beautiful images tell about the place where it has been staged, the Teatro Amintore Galli in Rimini.
