Teatro Necessario at the Festival Internacional de Circo de Uruguay
Teatro Necessario Circo, the contemporary circus production centre based in Colorno (Parma), stages two of its historic (and irresistible) performances at the Festival Internacional de Circo de Uruguay.
The biennial festival is organised by El Picadero, cultural centre for the promotion of the circus arts in Montevideo, with the objective of contributing to the consolidation and professionalization of the sector in Uruguay, besides promoting exchange between artists and the circulation of shows in the country. Round tables and training workshops are also included in the rich programme of this sixth edition (September 12-27, 2024).
Teatro Necessario historic company – that is Leonardo Adorni, Jacopo Maria Bianchini and Alessandro Mori – will stage its refined and funny circus in two extremely captivating shows that have been entertaining audiences of all ages and latitudes for years.
Nuova Barberia Carloni features three elegant and clumsy barbers, ready to welcome the public in their new salon and determined to sort out any problem to a chorus of lotions.
Clown in libertà is an experience of euphoric entertainment and catharsis for three lively clowns who are taken by childish excitement at the idea of having a stage and an audience all to themselves.
These are two creations based on the comic power of non-verbal language and, like all the shows by the company, combine circus arts, theatrical techniques, miming, dance, music –always played live. For sure, the Montevideo audience cannot but being won over by Teatro Necessario’s music, acrobatics, juggling, and overwhelming gags.
Nuova Barberia Carloni is on stage at the Teatro Solís on September 20 and 21 (9 pm).
Clown in libertà takes place outdoor, at the Botanical Garden, on September 22 (4 pm).
Teatro Necessario’s participation in the Festival Internacional de Circo de Uruguay is supported by the Italian Cultural Institute in Montevideo, the Dirección de Cultura de la Intendencia de Montevideo, Emilia-Romagna Region and ATER Fondazione.
