German premiere of "Le Sacre du Printemps" by Dewey Dell

The dance company guest of the Schaubühne Lindenfels in Leipzig with the performance and a workshop. April 23-27

Leipzig welcomes the German premiere of Le Sacre du Printemps by Dewey Dell, their unique and award-winning interpretation of Stravinsky's masterpiece that takes inspiration from the animal and plant world.

The company will be on stage at the Schaubühne Lindenfels as part of the special programme the theatre organizes to celebrate its thirty-year anniversary: the “Jubiläumstour 94/24”, in which the new works by "companions and friends" are presented – “familiar faces” to the Schaubühne audience.

Dewey Dell has been a guest several times in the past with various works, including Sleep Technique, Deriva Traversa, the concert Storm Atlas, and others, and in 2022 they particularly “impressed” with Hamlet.

This new creation, made of “contemporary visions, archaic atmosphere, extravagant costumes, images of dance and art history, behaviours of the animal kingdom” – as we read in the introduction of the theatre – will certainly impress the Schaubühne audience again.

Le Sacre du Printemps is on stage on April 26 and 27 (8:30 pm).

The “Jubiläumstour 94/24” also includes another appointment with Dewey Dell: Dancing Impossible Bodies, a two-day workshop open to “people who have an interest in dance meant as a malleable matter with no classification”.

The workshop takes place in English on April 23 and 24 (from 5-8 pm).

The tour is supported by Emilia-Romagna Region and ATER Fondazione.
