Teatro Necessario on tour in France
Teatro Necessario returns to France with the show Nuova Barberia Carloni, after a long and acclaimed tour last summer.
On March 3, the show is staged in La Fare-les-Oliviers, guest of the 2022-23 cultural season of the Center culturel Jean Bernard. A few days later, on March 10, Nuova Barberia Carloni will be the opening show of the 21st Festival International des Clowns de Tergnier.
The event – taking place from 10 to 25 March– is organized by the Culture Department of the City of Tergnier and its historic partners, the Association of Traditional Clowns of Tergnier and Cirque Jules Verne - Pôle national Cirque et Arts de la rue of Amiens.
The festival and its “grand parade of fantasies” host artists from Italy, Spain, Holland, Switzerland, as well as France.
Teatro Necessario will stage its refined and entertaining circus with Nuova Barberia Carloni, featuring three elegant and clumsy barbers, ready to welcome the public in their new salon.
The idea behind the show is to re-create the atmosphere of those times when the barber’s shop was the meeting place preferred by gentlemen, a focal point of the village, and the barber not only shaved and cut hair, but also entertained his guests by singing, playing, serving drinks, giving advice…
In the game, the stage is the barber’s shop itself, and the stalls with the audience, a large waiting room. Between acrobatics and juggling, clowning and overwhelming gags, the barbers are determined to entertain their guests and cure any problem with lotions.
Nuova Barberia Carloni is also scheduled on March 13.
Teatro Necessario will be back in France in April and May with this and another acclaimed show: Clown in libertà.
