Poland – DNA company at Zawirowania International Dance Festival
Elisa Pagani and her contemporary dance company DNA are guest of Zawirowania international dance festival taking place in Warsaw from June 19 to 25.
The festival, now in its 19th edition, is organized by the dance production centre and dance academy Teatr Tańca Zawirowania with the support of the City of Warsaw.
DNA presents White Noise, a performance on the role of the feminine and its ability to generate creative, evolutionary and social change.
The pièce opens with a sacred and ancient ceremonial based on the crossing of one’s own light/shadow dualism, a dreamlike, wild, primitive ritual which honours the nature of the feminine and tries to overcome the limits. It blurs the outlines of the bodies, praises personal power, and embodies the attempt to take back the masculine and fearless warrior archetype, ready to face the action, the fight –whatever it is, to conquest one's own place in the world and to resolve, at least temporarily, the otherness, the biological competition.
White Noise is on stage on June 21st (7 pm) at Teatr Tańca Zawirowania.
DNA dance company's activities are supported by the Ministry of Culture (MiC) and Emilia-Romagna Region. The tour has the support of the Italian Cultural Institute in Warsaw.
