On November 3rd, monographic concert dedicated to Salvatore Sciarrino and the world premiere of his new work

Icarus vs Muzak celebrates Salvatore Sciarrino's 75th anniversary at the GAIDA Festival of Vilnius – the most important and largest festival of contemporary music in Lithuania.

Salvatore Sciarrino is the “Guest Composer” of the 2022 edition and for this occasion the Festival commissioned him a new work, with the support of the Siemens foundation.

The world premiere of Paesaggi con macerie (landscapes with ruins), inspired by recent history, is on November 3rd in the monographic concert Portrait Sciarrino, in presence of the Maestro (7 pm, St. Catherine Church).

The ensemble will be conducted by Marco Angius. The programme includes other works by Sciarrino from different ages, that are performed in Lithuania for the first time.

A meeting with Salvatore Sciarrino goes before the concert (5:30 pm).
Maestro Sciarrino meets the press and the public. Moreover, M° Marco Angius introduces his volume "Come avvicinare il silenzio. La musica di Salvatore Sciarrino" (Il Poligrafo, 2020).

Icarus vs Muzak’s tour is supported by the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Vilnius, Emilia-Romagna Region and ATER Fondazione.
