The Netherlands - "Feeling Good" by Aterballetto
“Dance and Fragility” is a project by the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto focused on the relationship between dance and disability. Born in 2019, it aims at supporting and telling the story of a new and precious field of activity: performing research, reflection and production on different forms of virtuosity, which integrate disability.
Feeling Good, a creation by choreographer Diego Tortelli for an abled dancer and a disabled dancer, is part of this project.
Tortelli uses to create starting from precise spatial notions and aesthetic references, declining a fluid and original language that put him at ease in contexts completely different from one another.
His challenge started one year ago working with one of the company’s dancers and Paralympic fencer Emanuele Lambertini and tracing a dialogue based on a rituality converging the word of dance and that of fencing.
This way, he got to an actual creation for the stage, now debuting at the prestigious Holland Dance Festival.
Feeling Good is presented within the evening Mixed Doubles together with three other duets produced by Onassis Cultural Centre (GR), Holland Dance Festival (NL), Skånes Dansteater (SE).
