Taiwan - Golden Horse Classic Film Festival: Fellini 100
The celebrations of the centenary of Federico Fellini's birth are going on in Taiwan.
They are organized in co-operation with the Italian Office of Economic, Commercial and Cultural Promotion in Taipei that, on the occasion of its 25th anniversary, promotes the calendar of events “Italy in Taiwan 2020′′, a program where the tributes to the Maestro could not be missed.
After an intense activity during the most difficult moments of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was finally possible to organize with the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival Executive Committee the complete retrospective of Fellini’s films, in collaboration with Istituto Luce Cinecittà, Cineteca di Bologna, and Cineteca Nazionale.
Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival (TGHFF) is one of the biggest and most interesting in South-East Asia; eight sections -competitive and non- introduce every year more than one hundred movies from around the world, aiming at promoting cinema as an art able to enhance intercultural understanding.
In order to give the greatest prominence to the 2020 celebrations, the Festival has done an exclusive section, Golden Horse Classic Film Festival: Fellini 100.
From July 24th to August 13th, all the 24 films directed by Fellini are scheduled, most of them in the new 4K restoration, a retrospective complemented by the exhibition Food in Fellini’s drawings.
The successful exhibit by Emilia-Romagna Region, already set in several international events, displays 19 drawings made by Fellini in different moments of his career, mostly from his Book of Dreams, the dreamlike journal kept for about thirty years.
The exhibition Food in Fellini’s drawings and the retrospective Golden Horse Classic Film Festival: Fellini 100 are part of the official programme of the Italian National Committee for the Celebration of the Centenary of Fellini's birth - ‘Fellini 100’.
Since Fellini arouses great interest in the Taiwanese audience, the films will be also screened in three other cities of the island, Taoyuan, Taichung, and Kaohsiung.
