Romania – “Lights on! Fellini’s 8 ½ - Fotografii inedite de Paul Ronald”

From October 2 to November 7, in Bucharest, exhibition with the screening of the animated short based on Fellini’s drawings “Long Journey”

The exhibition Lights on! Fellini’s 8 ½ - Fotografii inedite de Paul Ronald opens in Bucharest on the occasion of the Night of the Galleries and the Museums, on October 2nd.

The successful exhibition produced by Emilia-Romagna Region and Centro Cinema Città di Cesena for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Federico Fellini’s birth is gathering appreciation worldwide both for the beautiful unpublished images by Paul Ronald, the official still photographer of 8 ½, and for its value of precious evidence of the filmmaking of a movie many consider Fellini’s greatest masterpiece.

Previously set in Cluj-Napoca on the occasion of TIFF Transilvania International Film Festival – the most important in Romania – within the tribute to the unforgettable director "Close-up Federico Fellini”, the exhibition is now presented in Bucharest thanks to the Italian Cultural Institute, set in the Galateca gallery until November 7th.

During the period of the exhibition, screening of Long Journey, a very peculiar animated short film based on Fellini’s drawings directed by Andrej Khrzhanovskij on screenplay by Tonino Guerra, produced by Emilia-Romagna Region in collaboration with Fondazione Fellini Rimini in 2006, and of the documentary Fellini fine mai by Eugenio Cappuccio, a journey into Fellini’s ‘secret world’ and a new observation point on the great director and his aesthetics, produced by Rai Cinema, Rai Teche, Aurora TV in 2019.
