A tribute to Ennio Morricone by Ravenna Festival
On July 9, world premiere at Ravenna Festival of Ci sono giorni che non accadono mai (There are days that never happen), a play by Valerio Cappelli on a subject of topical interest: love in the time of Covid-19.
Two great actors, Isabella Ferrari and Sergio Castellitto, are together on stage for the first time in their careers. Castellitto himself stages this pièce conceived just during the weeks of lockdown, so returning to theatre after fifteen years in the double role of director and actor.
The previously unreleased score by Ennio Morricone - recorded by the Corelli Orchestra conducted by Jacopo Rivani - makes this premiere even more unique. A few days after the passing away of the legendary double Oscar-winning composer, it becomes a tribute the Festival pays to the artist it had already awarded in 2004, as a sign of friendship and deep admiration.
The show, co-produced by Ravenna Festival, Festival Puccini, and Prima International Company, is available on the platform www.ravennafestival.live, live streamed on Thursday, July 9, at 09:30 p.m. (registration required).
