Ravenna Festival is the stalls for everybody
Ravenna Festival has always been inclined to explore and experiment new course, new languages, new instruments and the 2020 edition proves it once again and even more, with a free live streaming project.
An innovative project which, as the Superintendent Antonio De Rosa says, wants “to reach everybody, everywhere. Also the future audience, those geographically far who will find inspiration to come back in Ravenna”.
The online contents will follow the multidisciplinary programme since ever characterizing the Festival, with few exceptions: the appointments of concerts, theatre, dance, talks are almost 40.
Registration is required on the platform www.ravennafestival.live, all events are live streamed on the day of their programming, then remaining available.
Some are available for a definite period which is indicated in each single form of the on demand section of the platform: for instance, the Ravenna Festival opening concert conducted by Riccardo Muti on June 21 is available until July 30, Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno by Händel performed by Accademia Bizantina on June 24 is available until July 25.
Ravenna Festival has been the forerunner not only with regard to the live streaming, but also to other aspects: Maestro Muti’s has been the first live concert in Italy after the pandemic emergency, and just on World Music Day, and has also been the opening event of Estate all'italiana Festival, the digital festival curated by the ItaliaFestival Association and promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and shared by its network of Embassies, Consulates and Italian Cultural Institutes.
Ravenna Festival participates in it also with three other shows: the tribute to Beethoven by Valery Gergiev with Beatrice Rana and the Luigi Cherubini Youth Orchestra, the concert of sacred music in the Basilica di San Vitale O ORIENS La fonte musica, the show Duets and Solos, Beatrice Rana and Mario Brunello with the stars of dance.
