Russia – Aterballetto at the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum
The St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum is a unique “global” cultural event organized by the Government of St. Petersburg with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
The VII Saint Petersburg International Cultural Forum takes place from 15th to 17th November and Italy is the Guest Country of this edition.
More than 80 Countries participate the Forum, and a great number of cultural experts, representatives of government, academic communities, culture business operators and artists from all over the world, who animate a rich programme of drama theatre, opera, ballet, music, exhibitions, cinema.
Aterballetto is the only dance company in the artistic programme of Italy and on November 17th it will perform the double bill Golden Days / Wolf at the Mikhailovsky Theatre.
Golden Days, by choreographer Johan Inger, is a show pervaded by a sense of history and nostalgia, in which the music by Tom Waits, Keith Jarrett and Patti Smith are the key to go back to 'golden days' of a past that seemed simple and free.
Wolf, by choreographer, dancer and composer Hofesh Shechter, is pervaded by a sort of wild animal quality, running intermittently through men and women, a composition which carries into a totally original and engaging universe.
Swedish Johan Inger and Israeli-Londoner Hofesh Shechter are some of the many Italian and international choreographers who have collaborated with the company, which has recently developed renewed guiding principles aiming at producing performances belonging to diverse artistic and choreographic universes, targeted at different audiences and individually designed to suit all kinds of theatre spaces.
