Germany - Emilia-Romagna at the tanzmesse 2018
Over recent years, dance in Emilia-Romagna has registered a growing interest by wider audiences and a flourishing of young choreographers and very active companies throughout the territory.
This development has been surely encouraged by the role of the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza-Aterballetto –the most important Italian contemporary dance company–, by the activities of the Rete Anticorpi –a network of performing arts operators, festivals, and creative residencies supporting training, production and promotion of young authors–, by the outset of ATER multidisciplinary performing arts network –composed of 11 theatres directly managed and various others associated hosting each year approximately 100 dance performances–, besides the many dance festivals which have been organized in the region since always.
Finally, Emilia-Romagna Region’s cultural policy has given a not only financial support to all these activities by creating the Regional Board for Dance.
So, a virtuous artistic and organizational circuit has been created, thanks to which the main international dance companies can find in Emilia-Romagna a unique platform for touring and international exchanges at regional and national level, and, at the same time, young talented choreographers and companies can find a fertile and attentive environment for their proposals.
This is Emilia-Romagna DANCELAND, the region “heart of dance in Italy” presented at the internationale tanzmesse 2018, the largest event dedicated to contemporary dance in Europe, taking place in Düsseldorf from August 31st to September 1st.
On display, sixteen dance companies and young choreographers: Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto; Artemis Danza; CollettivO CineticO; Nexus | Simona Bertozzi; MM Contemporary Dance Company; gruppo nanou; Le supplici - Fabrizio Favale; Formati Sensibili - Alessandro Carboni; fuse*; Daniele Albanese; Caterina Basso; Barbara Berti / TIR Danza; Olimpia Fortuni; Nicola Galli / TIR Danza; Francesca Penzo; Manfredi Perego / TIR Danza.
Amongst them, the tanzmesse artistic committee has selected the performance Circeo by Fabrizio Favale, a show «made by refinement of the movement and its dynamic qualities, like a never-ending embroidered work», which will be on stage on August 30th (h 05:00pm, at the Studio3).
The participation to the tanzmesse 2018 has been realized by the Emilia-Romagna Region Culture Detp, ATER, Fondazione Nazionale della Danza/Aterballetto and Rete Anticorpi with the support by the Italian Cultural Institute in Cologne.
Social hour on September 1st, from 01:30pm to 02:30pm at the booth n. 42.
The occasion is also an invitation to the public and the operators to attend the 5th edition of the N.I.D. Platform (New Italian Dance Platform, supported by the Italian Ministry for Culture) that will take place in Reggio Emilia in 2019.
