International competition for videos dedicated to ceramics
CERAMIC STORIES - Short Movie Competition is a call for the creation of videos dedicated to ceramics, which has been launched by the MIC - International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza in collaboration with the PORZELLANIKON Museum of Selb.
From May 3 to October 15, 2021, video makers and students, aged between 18 and 35, can take part in the competition by creating short videos that aim to support ceramic production and marketing, stimulating a reflection on the identity of ceramics.
The competition is developed in the context of the CerDee project (Entrepreneurship in the ceramic regions - developing, educating, encouraging), funded by the INTERREG Central Europe programme, in which the MIC is partner together with eight European institutions: the Porzellanikon Museum of Selb, lead partner of the project, and the Technical University of Ilmenau (Germany), the Ceramic Museum in Bolesławiec (Poland), the New Design University of St. Pölten (Austria), the National Museum of Slovenia in Ljubljana and the Tourist and culture board of Kranj (Slovenia), the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (Czech Republic).
The CerDee project aims to support the creatives involved in different roles in the ceramics sector with new energy, for a renewal of production, whether it be handicraft, industrial or design-related. Among the key points, also the development of innovative marketing and communication strategies to be shared among the European territories of ceramic tradition.
A panel of experts will judge the videos sent for Ceramic Stories and select the winners.
