Motus on tour in Norway

The RIMI/IMIR SceneKunst in Stavanger and its festival ‘Outpost Flørli’ host three performances by the theatre company. May 24-31

Motus returns to the RIMI/IMIR SceneKunst (RISK) in Stavanger, the centre which last year hosted two shows by the company, and which also hosted one of the company’s artistic residencies to create the new show Frankenstein (a love story), that debuted in Bologna in October 2023.

The link with the RISK is renewed on this occasion. On May 24, one of the two shows presented last year will be on stage again: You were nothing but wind, performance on the figure of Hecuba, one of the two spin-offs of Tutto Brucia, Motus’ re-writing of Euripides’ Trojan Women.

The staging of Frankenstein (a love story) could not be missing: the show is scheduled on May 25 and 26.

Motus’ work investigates themes that Mary Shelley first devised and that intersect with themes and suggestions of our present time: the “monstrous offspring”, the dangerous boundary between the living and the non-living, the radical loneliness of an unheard creature.

It is a project on “monstrosity” that Motus plans to continue with a second part titled Frankenstein (a history of hate) that will debut in 2025.
A prelude to this new research will be created at the RISK: a performance titled Daemon, one of the many negative terms used to refer to the creature in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. It is a solo by Enrico Casagrande, with the voice and the collaboration of Alexia Sarantopoulou (who plays Mary Shelley in the show presented in Stavanger), focused on the "turning evil" of the creature.

Daemon is a performance site specific for Flørli, the village in Lysefjord where the RISK organizes the annual festival Outpost Flørli, and will be on stage on May 31 in the frame of the festival.
