«Thanks to projects like this, available worldwide, the culture of Emilia-Romagna – its production bodies, its magnificent theatres, the high quality of its productions and workers – can be known and appreciated beyond the number of seats of the theatres», says the Regional Minister for Culture Mauro Felicori. «We aim at getting beyond regional boundaries and to convey the message this region is culturally very active and productive, and is able to compete with the works by European and overseas theatres. Moreover, in this difficult moment due to the pandemic, that has significantly cut the presence of spectators, the chance to enjoy shows from any place is even more necessary and relevant».

After its first year, OperaSteaming has reached more than half a million spectators and gathered an enthusiastic international audience interacting from Europe and many other Countries, as Zimbabwe, United States, Taiwan, Brazil, Russia, South Korea.
