Accademia Bizantina on tour in Spain
Accademia Bizantina returns to Spain for a tour that will reach the cities of Madrid, Barcelona, and Bilbao.
The orchestra presents a ‘baroque gem’: Antonio Vivaldi’s “Il Giustino”, performed in concert form.
Vivaldi’s opera tells a gripping tale of love, adventure, war, power and family feuds, in a fairytale-opera packed with characters and twists.
Ottavio Dantone gave an extraordinary reinterpretation of it, both for his extensive work on reconstructing the score and for the narrative approach, which transports the audience into the fairytale dimension of Il Giustino.
The cast features a group of top-level solo voices, including soprano Emöke Baráth (Arianna) and alto Delphine Galou (Giustino).
Il Giustino is scheduled on April 27 in Madrid at the Auditorio Nacional de Música (6 pm), on April 28 in Barcelona at the Palau de la Música Catalana (7 pm), and on April 30 in Bilbao at the Sociedad Filarmónica de Bilbao (7:30 pm).
The events in Madrid and Barcelona are supported by the Italian Cultural Institutes in Madrid and Barcelona.
