Teatrino dell’Es and its puppets in Belgium
Teatrino dell’Es, under the artistic direction by Vittorio Zanella and Rita Pasqualini, is a laboratory of creativity and theatrical culture, where the world of puppets and marionettes comes to life in a unique and evocative way. With an extraordinary collection of over 35,000 historical pieces catalogued since 1582 and a rich repertoire of shows, the Bologna-based theatre company has established itself as a keeper of the puppet theatre traditions.
Teatrino dell'Es returns to Brussels within the project “Burattinando s’impara". On April 9 (6 pm), at the Italian Cultural Institute, Vittorio Zanella presents his show Mi rendo conto (I realize).
The show retraces the different phases of puppet theatre from its origins to the present day, through different cultural themes of our century.
At the end of the show, a close encounter with the fantastic world of puppets will follow, curated by Vittorio Zanella, Rita Pasqualini and Unima Belgium (Union Internationale de la Marionnette).
The event is organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Brussels and OperaMus with the participation of Unima Belgium and the collaboration of Emilia-Romagna Region and ATER Fondazione.
Teatrino dell’Es will also perform two shows in two European schools and one at the Saint Elisabeth Hospital in Brussels, in the Paediatric Oncology ward – an activity dedicated to children suffering from an illness that Vittorio and Rita also carry out in Italian hospitals.
