Austria – Accademia Bizantina at "Resonanzen", the Early Music Festival of the Wiener Konzerthaus
Accademia Bizantina performs at Resonanzen, the Early Music Festival of the Wiener Konzerthaus, which for this 33rd edition (January 18-26, 2025) has chosen as its motto: »Old Masters« – a tribute to Thomas Bernhard on his 94th birthday.
The programme of the concert by Accademia Bizantina, titled »Habsburgerpropaganda«, includes Il Trionfo della Fama by Francesco Bartolomeo Conti (January 21, 7:30 pm, Grosser Saal).
Staged in 1723, Il Trionfo della Fama is a shining example of a celebratory serenata, composed to celebrate Charles VI. The allegorical character of Fame, suspended between sky, earth and sea, sees everything and observes everything. He dialogues with the continents of the Earth and with the other rhetorical figures (Glory, Valor, Genius and Destiny) praising Charles, the greatest of the emperors.
