Second stage in China of the exhibition of young Italian illustrators
Great success in south-west China for the exhibition Italian Excellence. The New Generation of Italian Children’s Illustrators – the project by Bologna Children’s Book Fair, Emilia-Romagna Region and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), curated by Accademia Drosselmeier/Cooperativa Giannino Stoppani.
After being exposed in October in Dujiangyan, city of the UNESCO site of the same name in Sichuan province, on last December 3 it was opened in Tianfu New Area (Chengdu), where it will run through January 2, 2021.
The exhibition has been organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the city of Chengdu in collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing and the Tianfu New Area Management Committee, and it has been the opening event of a new space dedicated to art and culture built on the shores of Xinglong Lake, the green heart of the Tianfu New Area: the FANG · FUN ART Space, that will host various types of activities aimed above all at the younger audience.
The Vice Consul of Italy in Chongqing, Mrs Adriana Lori, the Vice General Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the city of Chengdu, Mr Huang Tao, and the Vice Director of the International Cooperation Office of Tianfu New Area, Mr Li Bo, attended the opening ceremony.
The two stages in Sichuan of "Italian Excellence" are part of the “2021 Chengdu-Europe Culture Season” – annual review curated by the Foreign Affairs Office of the city, in which Italy is participating this year as Guest of Honour with a rich programme of events in the frame of “Road to 2022 - Italy-China Year of Culture and Tourism”.
The local media have dedicated considerable space to the exhibition, underlining its 'great harmony' and public success, and other Chinese Provinces are applying to welcome it.
