Belgium – Pippo Delbono again on the stage of the Théâtre de Liège
The Théâtre de Liège is proud to bring Pippo Delbono back to Liège with his latest creation Amore, after having hosted him with the acclaimed Vangelo and La Gioia.” Anyone who has ever witnessed one of his completely unique, loving and punk performances will understand why”, the Theatre explains in its presentation, in which the new performance is portrayed as “a moment of pure poetry, a brutal caress expressing Pippo Delbono's need to question love in order to soften the pain”.
As always in his work, “Amore is yet again an attempt to bring life into theatre”, says Pippo Delbono. The search for love is a journey that starts in Portugal and crosses Cape Verde, Angola and Mexico, and an inner journey, that crosses “the strings of the soul”. The notes of fado, the words of poets, and the powerful images tell of beauty and pain – that state of the soul which under the name of 'love' includes longing and happiness.
Pippo Delbono’s new show, already warmly applauded in Italy and France, is as usual produced by ERT - Emilia Romagna Teatro Fondazione, one of the Italian National Theatre, in co-production with prestigious international partners, including the Théâtre de Liège itself, which is looking forward to welcoming it on April 28 and 29 (at 08:00 p.m.).
