Streaming of "Pastorale" by MM Contemporary Dance Company
A new appointment with dance on teatrinellarete.it, the platform made by ATER Fondazione proposing a ‘virtual season’ to replace the seasons of the Multidisciplinary Circuit of Emilia-Romagna theatres, closed due to the pandemic.
On Sunday, January 24, at 05:00 p.m., Pastorale by MM Contemporary Dance Company, streamed from the stage of one of the precious historical theatres of the region Emilia-Romagna, the Teatro Comunale Bonifazio Asioli in Correggio (Reggio Emilia).
It is the new choreography created by Michele Merola on Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the composer's birth, which premiered on October 21, 2020 at the Teatro Sociale in Trento, in the version for two pianos live performed by Giancarlo and Stefano Guarino piano duo.
Starting from this romantic musical score, the choreography draws inspiration from the nature to which it is paid tribute, analyzing the ancestral relationship between it and man.
The nine dancers become actors, spectators, and mediators of a new ecological knowledge and consciousness of Earth, of a new sense of identity and memory of it. They become a projection of contemporary man, of his motivated and renewed ability to understand the meaning and the value of landscapes, both geographic and human, whose protection is now an essential goal.
Pastorale will be available on “Teatri nella rete” platform until Saturday, January 30.
