The young Italian illustrators on display in Mexico and China
The exhibition Italian Excellence. The New Generation of Italian Children’s Illustrators is continuing its international tour.
This is the third edition of a promotional project conceived by Bologna Children’s Book Fair and Emilia-Romagna Region and curated by Cooperativa Giannino Stoppani/Accademia Drosselmeier, that is now shared by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), in the certainty that illustration may enrich the portrait of Italian creativity in the world with a new chapter.
This third survey of the Italian panorama of children’s illustrations is reserved for young and most promising Italian illustrators, after the previous two edition presenting works by renowned illustrators. The twenty young artists here on display are aged between 23 and 35 and were selected focusing on the quality of their drawing, the originality of content, the poetic vision and the ability in interpreting the classics and producing new and surprising proposals for the publishing world.
