Spain – La Baracca-Testoni Ragazzi theatre company at the TIF Granada Festival
La Baracca - Teatro Testoni Ragazzi is again on tour abroad and participates in the TIF Granada Festival with the performance On-off, staged at the Centro Federico García Lorca on November 26 and 27.
The TIF Granada is one of the most important cultural centres dedicated to performing arts for children, youth and the family in the south of Spain. The creation of new audiences and promoting specific programmes for the little ones and for the different age groups of the younger audience, are some of its main objectives.
This sixth edition of the TIF Granada Festival – taking place from November 23 to December 2 – presents high-quality shows selected for their pedagogical content and performed by important national and international companies.
On-off, a show for children aged 1 to 4, was developed from an 'experiment' La Baracca theatre company carried out in nursery schools observing the children’s relationship with light and darkness.
There is an actor on stage, but the real protagonist is the light. Music and movements follow the rhythms of the switches and create a dance in which the light can be everything.
The performance – awarded ‘Best Artistic Achievement’ by ASSITEJ Serbia in 2013 – is a tribute to the children’s amazement at the behaviour of light and to their curiosity and interest in controlling it and its intensity through the use of switches.
