Icarus Ensamble among the winners of “Vivere all’italiana in musica”
Icarus Ensamble, a contemporary music group based in Reggio Emilia very active on the international scene, is one of the five winners of "Vivere all’italiana in musica", the Notice by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation - Directorate General for the Promotion of the Country System.
This is one of the two new initiatives for the promotion and diffusion of Italian culture abroad the Ministry developed to support the recovery of Italian productions in the live entertainment sector (“Vivere all’italiana sul palcoscenico” is the other) and the international relaunch thanks to the network of Embassies, Consulates, Representatives and Italian Cultural Institutes in the world.
Five proposals of original and unpublished compositions of high quality were selected, to be produced in digital album and video format.
Icarus Ensamble, founded by Marco Pedrazzini, Giovanni Mareggini, and Mirco Ghirardini in 1994, has proposed the project Codice incanto, which includes the performance of works by great composers, some of which expressly written for Icarus Ensamble or they first performed: Salvatore Sciarrino, Luciano Berio, Sylvano Bussotti, Ennio Morricone, Nicola Sani.
Icarus’s original members will be joined by young ensamble Icarus vs Muzak with Marco Angius conductor, Alvise Vidolin on electronics, and Monica Bacelli voice.
The albums and videos of "Vivere all'italiana in musica" will be disseminated through a dedicated platform and promoted internationally by the Ministry's Foreign Network.
