United Kingdom – Accademia Bizantina at London's Barbican

On April 9, two concerts dedicated to ‘Sacred and Secular’ Vivaldi with countertenor John Holiday

The concert cycle ‘Barbican Presents’ brings some of the greatest international classical artists, orchestras and ensembles to London, in a stimulating and eclectic mix of classical, contemporary, and Baroque music.

On April 9, Gramophone Orchestra of the Year 2021 nominee Accademia Bizantina will perform Vivaldi Sacred and Secular, two concerts with two different programs all dedicated to the great Baroque composer (02:00 p.m. and 07:30 p.m. at the Milton Court Concert Hall).

Over the course of an afternoon, you can hear the ever-popular “Four Seasons” interspersed with virtuosic concerti from “The Harmonic Inspiration”, the perfect contrast to Vivaldi’s "Stabat Mater" and “Nisi Dominus”.

On the occasion, Accademia Bizantina is joined by John Holiday, one of the finest countertenors of his generation.
