Teatro Nucleo’s trans-European journey with Odyssée Karavana

First step in in Bulgaria for the show “Domino” by Natasha Czertok. In Plovdiv, from June 1st to 10th

Odyssée Karavana is an international project promoted by the Centre International pour les Théâtres Itinérants (CITI - International Center For Travelling Theaters), involving more than 200 artists and technicians of 13 theatre companies who are crossing Europe to underline the need for dialogue and for the overcoming of material and immaterial boundaries.

The participants in this “contemporary odyssey” -started from Villeneuve-lès-Avignon in France-, will converge in five highlights: Plovdiv in Bulgaria, Ferrara in Italy, Thessalonica in Greece, Brussels in Belgium. Here the journey will end up with an international conference dedicated to artistic roaming, at the 'Théâtres Nomades' Festival, in August 2019.

From June 1st to 10th, Odyssée Karavana is in Plovdiv, and it is one of the key-project of Plovdiv European Capital of Culture in 2019.

Teatro Nucleo is the only Italian company in the project, attending with a new show for open spaces, Domino, directed by Natasha Czertok.

Through a multidisciplinary language ranging from dance to projection, from theater to music, Domino brings attention on the progressive reduction of primary goods, on the slow and gradual loss of freedom of thought, on the rise of new walls and also social frontiers, on poetry as an instrument of salvation, on the need to believe in something or someone.

«Domino is a classic show, in the sense of ancient», director Natasha Czertok says. «A ritual of encounter / confrontation with issues that too often our society refuses to investigate and face».

During the summer, Teatro Nucleo will stage Domino also in Germany, at the 'Sommerwerft Theatre Festival' of Frankfurt, and in Denmark, at the 'Waves Festival' of Vordingborg, on a tour supported by MiBAC -the Italian Ministry for culture, Emilia-Romagna Region, and the Italian Cultural Institute in Sofia.
