Belgium – "MicroDanze" by Aterballetto

On stage at Les Halles de Schaerbeek in Brussels from December 9 to 11

After the international debut in Athens in last October and the version within the exhibition “Orizzonti del Corpo” in Reggio Emilia in November, in co-operation with Fondazione Palazzo Magnani, the MicroDanze (MicroDances) by Aterballetto are in Brussels, on stage at Les Halles de Schaerbeek from December 9 to 11.

Les Halles de Schaerbeek, together with the Greek National Opera of Athens, are the partners of Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto in the project An Ideal City, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union (within which MicroDanze was produced) – a project that aims to explore the value of dance as a form of inhabiting and to investigate the ideal practices to connect dance to urban spaces.

MicroDanze is a ‘danced exhibition’ of short creations for non-theatrical spaces. Twelve choreographers have conceived short creations (six to eight minutes, to be danced in a minimum space), to be watched in series like visiting a museum. Philippe Kratz and Diego Tortelli are two of Aterballetto’s choreographers, other guest choreographers, such as Angelin Preljocaj and Fernando Melo, were invited to offer particular approaches.

The performance presents nine choreographies created by Aterballetto together with three choreographies by the Greek National Opera Ballet.

Le Halles proposes three programmes to its audience: two are composed of six choreographies and a third one includes them all.

In the meantime, for those who want to be carried away by the beauty of dance and art, Aterballetto has published on its You Tube channel the performances in Athens.
