OperaStreaming – Double appointment with Puccini, Mascagni and Leoncavallo
The 2025 OperaStreaming season continues with the opera productions of Emilia-Romagna broadcast live from its historic theatres.
In the month of April, there are two appointments.
On April 10, at 8 pm (CET), Giacomo Puccini’s La bohéme, from the Teatro Regio di Parma.
It is a new production in co-production with OperaLombardia and I Teatri di Reggio Emilia, directed by Marialuisa Bafunno, winner of the competition for creative teams under 35.
The call, promoted by the OperaLombardia Circuit, in collaboration with Opera Europa and with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture, aims at promoting the professionalism and creativity of young artists, and to stimulate a project approach that enhances accessibility and sustainability themes.
Riccardo Bisatti conducts the Filarmonica di Parma orchestra, the Choir of the Teatro Regio di Parma, trained by Martino Faggiani, and the Children's Choir of the Teatro Regio trained by Massimo Fiocchi Malaspina.
La bohéme will be available on OperaStreaming until October 10.
The second appointment is on April 13, at 3.30 pm (CET), with Pietro Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana coupled with Ruggero Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, from the Teatro Galli in Rimini.
The two masterpieces of Italian Verism in music are proposed in a new production, an international co-production involving the Rimini, Modena and Piacenza opera houses and Sofia Opera.
The direction is by Plamen Kartaloff, the set design by Giacomo Andrico and the cast of established singers, including Teresa Romano, Daniela Schillaci, Fabián Veloz, and Sung-Kyu Park, is entrusted to conductor Aldo Sisillo on the podium of the Orchestra dell'Emilia-Romagna Arturo Toscanini.
The ‘diptych’ Cavalleria rusticana / Pagliacci will be available on OperaStreaming until October 10.
Previous titles from the 2025 season are still available on the platform, in particular:
- Giulio Cesare by Georg Friedrich Händel, from the Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna, until July 17;
- I Capuleti e i Montecchi by Vincenzo Bellini, from the Teatro Valli in Reggio Emilia, until July 26;
- Serenata d’amore by Antonio Vivaldi, from the Teatro Comunale di Ferrara, until September 30.
