France – “How To Destroy Your Dance” by CollettivO CineticO
“Strict and insubordinate, precise and unpredictable, quirky and unscrupulous”. These are choreographer Francesca Pennini and CollettivO CineticO’s performers in the definitions by the critics and just these characteristics earned them awards and the recognition of the capability of “making of dance a new language every time, an unpredictable experience for both the professional spectator and who comes across it and does not know anything about Francesca Pennini and her crew”.
The performance on stage in Amiens at the Maison de la Culture on June 11 confirms this vocation: How To Destroy Your Dance is a challenge against time and one’s own limits. It is a game, a game to be, to challenge and to put to test one's own abilities and resistance: whether it is about holding an eighty kilos man on your shoulders whilst reciting the Latin version of the Ave Maria, or about running a certain amount of laps in a certain amount of time, or doing more than sixty pirouette in a row, or even about shouting all the times tables.
CollettivO CineticO plays putting itself to the test and doing it with a sadistic but lightweight taste that captivates the viewer.
The dance company's activity is supported by Emilia-Romagna Region Culture Dept. The tour in France is supported by ATER Fondazione
