Belgium – Teatro Gioco Vita at Turbulences - Festival International Jeune Public
The 11th edition of Turbulences - Festival International Jeune Public is underway in Namur, until December 8.
On the program, shows, professional meetings, thematic days for families and children, workshops.
On December 5 and 6, Teatro Gioco Vita stages its latest show Sonia and Alfredo, produced in 2020 in co-production with La Maison des Arts du Léman – Thonon-Évian-Publier.
The show is based on the books Go away, Alfredo! and Are you there, Alfredo? by Catherine Pineur, Belgian author and illustrator of children's books. The stage version, for actors and shadows, merges and develops the events contained in the two books into a single story. Direction and set design are curated by Fabrizio Montecchi, the shadow puppets –taken from Catherine Pineur’s drawings– are by Nicoletta Garioni and Federica Ferrari.
Sonia and Alfredo is a simple story about friendship and solidarity between a funny, strange bird and a little girl who lives alone in a house deep in the woods. Through few, essential words and puppets drawn simply but to great effect, two actors/animators create characters able to represent the great themes of life with delicacy and touching and touching simplicity.
The show by Teatro Gioco Vita could not miss this edition of Turbulences: in fact, Catherine Pineur is the protagonist – together with another Belgian author and illustrator of children’s book, Émile Jadoul – of the project En oiseau, proposed by the festival “to brings together young and old (schools, associations and families) and cultivate the resources of resilience: imagination and creativity, humor and derision, rebellion”. Birds are amazing beings, with unparalleled resources, and the workshops and the exhibition curated by Pineur and Jadoul will invite participants and visitors to discover themselves as birds.
