France – The Centro Cinema Città di Cesena at CINEMED
The 41st edition of CINEMED - Festival du Cinéma Méditerranéen opened in Montpellier on October 18th. This year, amongst the various sections of the programme, the Festival proposes the retrospective Anna Magnani, icône éternelle, dedicated to the great Italian actress, and a tribute to Paolo Virzì, “le nouveau maestro de la comédie italienne”.
These two items are enriched with two film stills exhibitions curated by the Centro Cinema Città di Cesena.
Anna Magnani, “Mamma Roma” and other films presents photos signed by Cavicchioli, Novi, Poletto, Ronald -some of the greatest photographers in the history of Italian cinema- and illustrates this and other strong characters interpreted by the actress.
The exhibit Paolo Virzì, comedy and more besides documenting the director’s work, offers a visual testimony of his movement on the set and of the attention and care he devotes to his actors.
The images come from the Centro Cinema Città di Cesena’s rich archives and the exhibits are curated by the director Antonio Maraldi.
