Germany – Teatro Due Mondi in Frankfurt with two shows
The artistic research of the company Teatro Due Mondi aims at making a kind of theatre both “cultured” and “popular”, rooted in traditions but able to speak a universal language and to point out the problems of contemporary society.
These principles can be found in the shows the company stages at the 17th international festival “am Fluss” in Frankfurt am Main, Sommerwerft.
The Nine Commandments is an outdoor show that, with grotesque irony and funny disenchantment, remind us the perverse dynamics of a society governed by the one and only goodness Money and its market laws.
Devils dressed as businessmen and wealthy merchants dance on a scaffold built of tubes and platforms symbolizing the altar where “the golden calf” is still worshipped.
You will see, you will see is an indoor show that deals with a highly topical matter: violence against women.
Three actresses are on stage, three different faces and bodies but one story, in which violence sometimes is physical and sometimes is bred by exclusion. But beside the difficult situations -presented in separated scenes-, the performance talks about the desire for freedom, sisterhood, dreams, sharing, courage, will.
