JazzinQuarantine is a virtual festival the Amici del Jazz di Modena association has proposed to let quality jazz music not to stop in these days of new restrictions and closures of theatres due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
It opened on December 6 with drummer Billy Cobham and will run to December 19 with live stream concerts and meetings with artists and music critics, freely available on www.facebook.com/ModenaJazzFestival, every day at 07:00 p.m. (CET).
The virtual stage features international and Italian artists, with special attention to musicians based in Emilia-Romagna.
Among the next international appointments not to be missed, the ones with saxophonist Bobby Watson and his band New Horizon (December 17) and with world-famous jazz vocal group The Manhattan Transfer (December 19).
The organizers want to keep alive the relation with the jazz enthusiasts who, during the festival first virtual edition in March-April, expressed their ‘love’ with picks of 25,000 views.
The Amici del Jazz di Modena association and Emilia-Romagna Region –one of the support partners of the initiative– also aim at defending the work of the music sector, while respecting all the rules to contrast the spread of the virus.
