Switzerland – "Buchettino" by Chiara Guidi

From February 15 to 23, in Villars-sur-Glâne, eight performances of the historic show.

Chiara Guidi’s Buchettino is a charming and timeless show. It is a "sound story among 50 little beds" from Charles Perrault's Le Petit Poucet, a show created in 1995 which has become a classic of children's theatre (but which also enchants adults), staged also by other theatre companies in France, Chile, South Korea, Denmark, Spain, Taiwan, Japan, and even with a version in Sardinian language (translated by Marcello Fois).

Now the Fondation Equilibre et Nuithonie, which hosted it in 2008, has chosen to include the show in the special programme organised to celebrate the twenty years of the Nuithonie Theater in Villars-sur-Glâne, introducing it as “a jewel”.

The setting prepared for Buchettino is a large wooden bedroom with fifty small beds, and each spectator lays down in his own to listen to the story told by the Storyteller. She sits in the middle of the room under a glowing light bulb. “Once upon a time...” As her tale unfolds, the sounds of the story whirl around outside the room, where everyone, in the dark, relives with his own senses, but immersed in a common feeling, what is happening in the story.

Eight performances of Buchettino are scheduled at the Nuithonie from February 15 to 23 (different times), many of which already sold-out.
