Poland – Concert “Mater Ceramica Suoni Dal Tempo” by the duo Lopez & Arevalos

On March 5 in Warsaw, closing event of the exhibition «'Mater ceramica' a living and contemporary material».

On the occasion of the finissage of the exhibition 'Mater ceramica' a living and contemporary material curated by the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza at the Italian Cultural Institute in Warsaw, the musicians from Ravenna Camilla Lopez (voice) and Matteo Ramon Arevalos (pianist and composer) perform an original musical project titled: 'Mater Ceramica Suoni Dal Tempo’ (sounds from time).

The project was born around research on the relationship between music and ceramic art to create an imaginary bridge between two of the fundamental art forms of the western world, in a line that starts from antiquity and reaches the present day.

During the concert, objects specially made of ‘Argilla Azzurra’ (blue clay) will be placed on the piano strings. These objects were conceived and made by Matteo Zauli of the Carlo Zauli Museum in Faenza in co-operation with artist Paola Nuovo Gomez. They will transform the sound of the piano into an ancient sound, similar to a santur or to an oriental chordophone instrument. The necklaces and elements of ‘Argilla Azzurra’ will dance with the movement of the piano notes, while everything is projected live on the screen.

The concert is organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Warsaw in collaboration with Associazione Musicale Angelo Mariani in Ravenna and the Carlo Zauli Museum in Faenza. It takes place on March 5 (6 pm) at the Italian Cultural Institute.
