Hungary – Accademia Bizantina at the Ealy Music Festival of Müpa Budapest
Accademia Bizantina has performed in many prestigious theatres and festivals around the world. Now the orchestra can add a new international stage: the Müpa Budapest, one of Hungary's best known cultural hubs and one of its most modern cultural institutions.
The Müpa offers a wide range of programmes and activities that include different artistic disciplines, and, among these, the Early Music Festival, organised to demonstrate that “works from past centuries are capable of providing us with surprising new experiences”.
It is an idea fully shared by Accademia Bizantina, that defines itself “a group of professional musicians determined to give Baroque music the chance to move us again”.
The Müpa had been planning to invite Accademia Bizantina for years. At last, the Ealy Music Festival 2025 gives the opportunity to listen to them, and in a precious rarity: the serenata Il Trionfo della Fama (The Triumph of Fame) by the Italian Baroque composer of the Habsburg court Francesco Bartolomeo Conti. An excellent cast and the famous Purcell Choir, directed by György Vashegy, accompany the orchestra.
Il Trionfo della Fama is scheduled on February 28 (7:30 pm) at the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall.
