Canadian premiere of “Gli anni” by Marco D’Agostin
Canadian premiere of Gli Anni (The Years) by Marco D’Agostin, the show created with and for the dancer Marta Ciappina – a work that earned them both the prestigious recognition of the Ubu Prize 2023: ‘Best Dance Performance’ and ‘Best Actress’ for Marta Ciappina (and it was the first time that a dancer received an award in that category).
It will be on stage in Montreal at Agora de la danse, the great centre devoted specifically to contemporary dance in the heart of the city, major place for research, creation and dissemination in contemporary dance for more 30 years.
In this show, Marco D’Agostin has created a generational biographical story entrusted to the talent of dancer Marta Ciappina, a singular interpreter as for artistic itinerary and technical peculiarities in the panorama of Italian dance. Without words, Marta Ciappina’s vibrant gestures tell an intimate and universal story, where each movement reveals buried emotions. Gli Anni is a dance of memories, an emotional journey through past and present, an invitation to spectators to play with their own memory.
Gli Anni in scheduled on March 12, 13 and 14 (7:30 pm). The artists will meet the audience after the performance on March 13.
