Poland – "Berchidda Live" at the Kraków Film Festival

The documentary on the 'Time in Jazz' festival and its creator Paolo Fresu selected in the competition 'DocFilmMusic'. Special screening and a meeting with the directors at the IIC Krakow on May 31.

The documentary BERCHIDDA LIVE - a journey through the Time in Jazz archive directed by Gianfranco Cabiddu, Michele Mellara and Alessandro Rossi, collects and processes more than 1,500 hours of archive material – largely unpublished – filmed over 25 years by Gianfranco Cabiddu and his crew in the various editions of Time in Jazz, the music festival created and directed by Paolo Fresu in his hometown, Berchidda, Sardinia.

Produced by the Bologna based Mammut Film, it had the support of the Film Commissions of Emilia-Romagna and Sardinia; the theatrical Italian distribution is by the Cineteca di Bologna.

The documentary has been selected at the 64th Kraków Film Festival – long-lasting and prestigious ‘Oscar-qualifying’ festival – and is among the eight titles of the International Music Documentary Competition DocFilmMusic.

On the occasion, and in accordance with the Festival, the Italian Cultural Institute in Krakow organizes a special screening at the Institute on May 31 (5 pm).

A meeting with the three directors of the film Gianfranco Cabiddu, Michele Mellara, Alessandro Rossi and with the director of the Summer Jazz Festival Kraków Witold Wnuk will follow the screening.
