"MADE IN ILVA" by Instabili Vaganti on tour in Venezuela

Five performances in four cities within the "Festival Internacional de Teatro Progresista". March 22-30

MADE IN ILVA - The contemporary Hermit, the long-running and award-winning show by Instabili Vaganti theatre company about the tragedy of the biggest steelworks of Europe, the ILVA in Taranto, continues to arouse great international interest.

After lots of performances around the world, the show is on tour again, this time in Venezuela, as guest of the 3rd edition of the Festival Internacional de Teatro Progresista (FITP).

Defined as a masterpiece of physical theatre, an example of “contemporary biomechanics” (Total Theatre Awards nomination 2014 at Edinburgh Fringe Festival), it has collected numerous national and international awards for civil commitment and experimentation, the most recent of which in September 2023 at the 17th Saint Muse International Theater Festival in Ulaanbaatar, where it won four Saint Muse Academy Awards (best mono drama, best direction, best stage designer, best actor).

The dramaturgy intertwines workers' testimonies, poetic texts by Luigi Di Ruscio and Peter Schneider, specially composed music and songs. The performance uses “a theatrical language with a strong emotional impact, where the body often becomes the main voice that shouts to the world how hard, alienating, inhuman, even lethal, factory work can still be today" (from the announcement of the Landieri Civil commitment theatre Award 2013, Naples).

The 3rd edition of the Festival Internacional de Teatro Progresista of Venezuela takes place from March 21 to 31 in Caracas and in the twenty-three States of the country. In addition to many national theatrical proposals, it hosts works by companies from twenty countries in Latin America, Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Thirteen of these international shows will tour the country, and among them MADE IN ILVA - The contemporary Hermit, on stage in Maracay on March 22, in Caracas on the 25th and 26th, in Mérida on the 28th, and in San Cristóbal on March 30.

In Caracas, still in the frame of the Festival, Anna Dora Dorno and Nicola Pianzola direct the masterclass The Organic Body (March 24).

The tour is made with the co-operation and the contribution of the Italian Cultural Institute in Caracas and has the support of the Italian Ministry of culture.
