Greece – “Waiting for Godot” directed by Terzopoulos

At the Onassis Stegi in Athens from May 15 to 19

After the recent stage in China at the Shanghai Drama Valley festival in early May, the international tour of Waiting for Godot directed by Theodoros Terzopoulos continues in Greece.

The show will be on stage at the Onassis Stegi in Athens from May 15 to 19 (8:30 pm).

Samuel Beckett’s work has never been performed at the Onassis Stegi and there is great expectation for this 'premiere', a first time that will be even more special with this unprecedented production curated by the Greek director, a master of the international scene.

Terzopoulos creates a lively dialogue between contemporaneity and the Beckettian drama, treated as a lens to read and interpret the present, among its profound contradictions and tragic drifts. In his version, the story is set in the future, in a world in ruins, at “the borderline of human existence”, to question about the minimum possible conditions for a life that is worth living.

The show is produced by di Emilia Romagna Teatro ERT / Teatro Nazionale and Fondazione Teatro di Napoli - Teatro Bellini, in collaboration with Attis Theatre Company, and is part of the ERT’s production project which involves international masters. Beside direction, Terzopoulos curated scenography, lighting, and costumes. On stage, an exceptional all-Italian cast: three of the most intense and sensitive Italian actors - Paolo Musio, Stefano Randisi, and Enzo Vetrano, and the two young performers Giulio Germano Cervi and Rocco Ancarola.
