Germany – Marco D’Agostin at 'Tanz im August' international festival
The 36th Tanz im August – the international festival organized by HAU Hebbel am Ufer and dedicated to contemporary dance in all its many expressions and forms, is in full swing in Berlin.
As usual, the varied programme presents internationally recognised companies and artists alongside experimental productions and emerging choreographers, and many opportunities for the audience to meet the participating artists, in coherence with the inclusive spirit of the festival. The 2024 edition takes place in ten different venues of the city and offers eighteen productions, including three international premieres and ten German premieres, as well as several Berlin and international co-productions.
Among the guests, Marco D’Agostin, who presents Best Regards, a work created in 2020 and already appreciated in many international stages. It is Marco’s very personal homage to performer and co-founder of the DV8 Physical Theater Nigel Charnock, with whom he worked in the past and who marked his way of conceiving dance: «After him, the possibility of a dance is for me the horizon within which everything on stage could happen ».
And so it was, in Marco's works. He is now considered among the best performers on the Italian contemporary scene, awarded with several prizes including two UBU – in 2018 for Best Performer Under 35 and in 2023 for Best Dance Performance (The Years).
Best Regards is on stage on August 29, 30 and 31 (at HAU2, different times). A meeting with the audience will follow the performance on August 31, moderated by Ana Vujanović.
