Germany – "Clown in libertà" by Teatro Necessario
The Italian Cultural Institute in Cologne celebrates the 70th anniversary of its foundation, and in programme of the various initiatives to enjoy this important anniversary there is a really captivating appointment: the show Clown in libertà by Teatro Necessario, on December 15 at the Institute theatre hall (5 pm).
On stage, three ‘talended’ clowns who are taken by childish excitement at the idea of having a stage and an audience all to themselves. The three try to set up a show to amuse, amaze and win over their audience, trying by any means to surprise, at the cost of overwhelming one another. Acrobatics follow, and duels in slow motion, intricate juggling, thrilling pyramids.
Music, which 'almost' never stops, even during the most unthinkable stunts, accompanies, underlines and lends rhythm to each action – a keystone of the narrative development of a show without dialogue.
